From July 2009 the criteria requirements for being an FA Charter Standard club will change.
The changes are designed to continue meeting the needs of the FA’s National Game Strategy 2008-2012 which was developed following nationwide consultation. The goals we are striving to meet include growth & retention, raising standards, better players, running the game, volunteer development and facilities. The changes in criteria below reflect the desire to reach these goals:
All Charter Standard Clubs
• 1 Coach to have attended FA Age Appropriate – Introductory Module from July 2009
• Code of Conduct – Clubs should use the FA RESPECT Codes of Conduct, which covers players, officials as well as parents and spectators (Please see related documents)
• Volunteer Coordinator – This person should support other volunteers
Development Clubs
• 1 Coach to have achieved FA Youth Module 1 from July 2010
• Club must attend at least 2 update/in-service dates per year
Community Clubs
• 1 Coach to have achieved FA Youth Module 2 by July 2011
• 1 Coach to have attended FA Mentoring Course by July 2011
• The club holds at least one workshop per season on addressing behaviour and improving standards
• The club produces an Advanced Development Plan
• Schools Coordinator – This person should be your liaison with local schools
